Glock knife, officially designated FMsr 78<\/p>\n
The Glock knife is a line of military field knives designed and manufactured by Glock Ges.m.b.H., based in Deutsch-Wagram, Austria. It can also be used as a bayonet by inserting the socket in the pommel (covered with a plastic cap) into a bayonet adapter that can be mounted on a Steyr AUG rifle.<\/p>\n
The knives have been developed in close collaboration with the Jagdkommando (lit. Hunting Command) of the Austrian Army Special Forces and are suitable for throwing.<\/p>\n
The blade of the Clip Point knife is made of SAE 1095 carbon steel with a hardness of 55 HRC and has an electrophoretic coating.
\nThe handles and scabbard are made of Glock polymer. The upper guard is bent forward, which allows it to be used as a bayonet on a Steyr AUG rifle.
\nIt can also be used as a bottle opener.<\/p>\n
The polymer sheath has a retaining clip that prevents the knife from being lost, a clip for attaching the knife to a belt up to 60 millimeters (2.4 inches) wide, and a drainage hole at the bottom.<\/p>\n
The first generation versions of the knives had a round Glock logo on the sheath, blade and handle. Later versions have the current Glock logo in the same places.<\/p>\n
Glock currently produces two models of knives:<\/p>\n
Field knife 78 (Feldmesser 78), a classic field knife, with a blade 165 millimeters (6.5 in) long and 5 millimeters (0.20 in) thick, with an overall length of 290 millimeters (11 in) and a weight of 206 g. (7, 3 oz.).<\/p>\n
Survival knife 81 (Feldmesser 81), which has the same overall dimensions as the Field Knife 78 with the addition of saw teeth on the back of the blade and weighs 202 g (7.1 oz).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
