Who doesn’t want to conquer terrain and reach the top with “dry feet”? The solution: The TIBET GTX. No matter whether you are tackling via ferrata, multiday tours or hard-surface trails in the Alps – the Vibram MASAI rubber sole makes the job of conquering terrains all sorts of fun. The addi­tional, wrap-around rubber rand protects against rocks and dirt.

The TIBET GTX has a CLIMBING ZONE. This is a flat component in the front sole area that facil­itates easy climbs.

The high-performance sole VIBRAM MASAI is optimally designed for use on alpine terrain. The “climbing zone” on the sole tip enables wearers to move precisely as they manoeuvre their way up sheer rock faces. The stud arrangement ensures that any dirt that accu­mulates in the sole of the footwear will be shaken loose while the boot wearer is walking. The distinctive heel provides walking comfort partic­ularly during descents.

High breath­ability
Designed with optimal breath­ability in mind, GORE-TEX shoes provide pleasant comfort even during intense activities. Water cannot penetrate the footwear, and moisture produced inside the shoe escapes through billions of pores in the GORE-TEX membrane.

Windproof
The GORE-TEX membrane dependably fights off the wind and the weather. As a result, you can head off on a tour no matter what the weather is like.

Thanks to the two-zone lacing system used in the TIBET GTX, the forefoot and upper have their own separately adjustable lacing zones. As a result, the shoe can be indi­vidually adapted to the anatomy of the foot and laced in different ways for ascents and descents.

Stitches and material overlaps are elim­inated in the TIBET GTX thanks to the use of large pieces in forming the upper. This reduces the possibility of pressure points, a feature that enhances comfort.

Just pull tight and lock in place: To simplify the job of tying footwear, LOWA has developed a special type of fastening hook for the TIBET GTX. Special feature: the system holds the laces in place in two different zones. Once the laces have been pulled tight in the lower area, they can be locked in place with the help of the fastening hook. Simply pressing the hook fastener upwards releases the locking action and the instep laces can be loosened.

To ensure laces run flexibly and smoothly through the eyelets, small roller balls minimise friction in the metal eyelets of the TIBET GTX.

As a result, the tongue is located where it should be – without any slippage or pressure points: This is what X-LACING® tech­nology of the TIBET GTX is all about. This special lacing system secures the tongue both vertically and hori­zontally. Because the lacing system gains inde­pendence from the height of the instep, the design is perfect for any type of foot. This tech­nology ensures that the pressure of the laces is trans­ferred not just to the hooks but to the tongue as well.

Feet can roll more effectively if the upper of a hiking boot can be easily bent. Such a feature saves energy when the wearer climbs hills and it provides real comfort in the process. For this reason, LOWA has integrated a flexible zone and a lace loop into this area for the TIBET GTX. This involves repos­i­tioning the boot’s eyelets and using a flexible lace hook that improves heel comfort and facil­itates bending.

The specially designed tongue of the TIBET GTX substan­tially enhances comfort. The tongue includes extra padding for the outer portion of the foot, and the upper end of it is espe­cially soft. This asym­metric padding provides effectively coordinated support to many areas of the foot. To take into account the foot’s anatomy, the recesses for the ankle area have also been placed higher on the inside than on the outside, and a flexible bending insert has been integrated into the inner side by the foot.
