Thanks to the two-zone lacing system used in the TIBET GTX, the forefoot and upper have their own separately adjustable lacing zones. As a result, the shoe can be individually adapted to the anatomy of the foot and laced in different ways for ascents and descents.
Stitches and material overlaps are eliminated in the TIBET GTX thanks to the use of large pieces in forming the upper. This reduces the possibility of pressure points, a feature that enhances comfort.
Just pull tight and lock in place: To simplify the job of tying footwear, LOWA has developed a special type of fastening hook for the TIBET GTX. Special feature: the system holds the laces in place in two different zones. Once the laces have been pulled tight in the lower area, they can be locked in place with the help of the fastening hook. Simply pressing the hook fastener upwards releases the locking action and the instep laces can be loosened.
To ensure laces run flexibly and smoothly through the eyelets, small roller balls minimise friction in the metal eyelets of the TIBET GTX.
As a result, the tongue is located where it should be without any slippage or pressure points: This is what X-LACING® technology of the TIBET GTX is all about. This special lacing system secures the tongue both vertically and horizontally. Because the lacing system gains independence from the height of the instep, the design is perfect for any type of foot. This technology ensures that the pressure of the laces is transferred not just to the hooks but to the tongue as well.
Feet can roll more effectively if the upper of a hiking boot can be easily bent. Such a feature saves energy when the wearer climbs hills and it provides real comfort in the process. For this reason, LOWA has integrated a flexible zone and a lace loop into this area for the TIBET GTX. This involves repositioning the boots eyelets and using a flexible lace hook that improves heel comfort and facilitates bending.
The specially designed tongue of the TIBET GTX substantially enhances comfort. The tongue includes extra padding for the outer portion of the foot, and the upper end of it is especially soft. This asymmetric padding provides effectively coordinated support to many areas of the foot. To take into account the foots anatomy, the recesses for the ankle area have also been placed higher on the inside than on the outside, and a flexible bending insert has been integrated into the inner side by the foot.
